March 2017 President’s Message
Hi Fellow Members,
Here it is March already, or is it May? Ruth’s flowers are growing and snow is predicted. I don’t know whether to sharpen the lawn mower blades or get the snow shovels ready. I do know sometime this month whichever month it is, I will be getting a car ready to go to the Maple Festival on April 2nd.
Joking aside, we have no tours planned for March. We do have a meeting on the 4th Friday March 24th at the Perryopolis Borough Bldg. at 7:30 pm., Tom and Jane Budd will be our Host.
April 2nd, we plan to meet at Panera Bread, Uniontown at 9:00 am. (don’t eat too much there), we will be stopping at the Salisbury Lions for Buckwheat Cakes. Weather permitting, we will continue to Meyersdale for the Maple Festival and car show.
For May, we have a tour planned May 24th and 25th to Sugarcreek, Ohio to visit the Amish Country side and markets; as well as, a few other interesting stops along the way. This one will be an overnight tour so bring your tooth brush and jammies. 10 rooms are reserved, 6 are already taken. April 15th is the cut-off date. If you plan to attend this event the Activities Committee has to hear from you by then.
The package is $89.95 + tax, it includes 2 dinners Wednesday night, one night double occupancy, and 2 breakfast Thursday night. They have a meeting room where we can hang out, snacks must be supplied by us. More details will be available after we know who all is going.
Call Ruth Redshaw or Frances McCune to confirm attendance – PLEASE do not miss the April 15th deadline.
That’s all for now, see you at the March Meeting,
