August 2015 President’s Message

monvalleyadmin August 8, 2015President's Message

Hello to All;

It is August 2015  and it is HOT, HOT, HOT!!! Hasn’t it been great? After all the spring rains seeming like week after week it’s now hot and dry, amazing how dry it gets in such a short time. Oh well less grass cutting more time for touring and driving. Trust you all have had opportunities to do just that. Speaking of touring we had one this past Saturday and had 10 cars go for a ride thru Washington and Green Counties with a pleasant stop at the Green County Historical Societies Museum in Waynesburg. We had lunch at Rudnick’s in Marianna, was somewhat different in how we were served but you will not find a larger burger in this part of the state, and they were great.

August is going to be a busy month. First is our tour to Elkins West Virginia with the Northern Panhandle Region of the AACA where we will ride the Greenbrier & Durbin RR as well as see a dinner play. This will be on the 14th, 15th, and 16th of August. I believe there are 18 couples going, looking forward to a great time. Skip and Russ have run the route so were are already to go. We will be meeting at Panera Bread Uniontown at 9:30AM on Friday the 14th, and leaving from there.

Then the following weekend is our Annual picnic and corn roast which will be hosted by Ken and Marilyn Amrick at their home, 856 Iron City Road, Belle Vernon, on Sunday the 23rd at 1:00PM. Don’t forget to bring that favorite dish or dessert.

So, enjoy the evening by taking a nice leisurely ride in that favorite car with that special someone and enjoy this great weather. We hope to see you at one of our events, if not perhaps in passing. Oh by the way I did in fact break the crank shaft in my Tee down in Missouri while touring, so as the saying goes in Tee world, There are those who have broken a crank and those who will break a crank. I am now one who has. So getting the “A” back was just in the nick of time, and away we go.

See you down the road.

  1. Had a good time on the Greene/Washington tour. One of the model T’s had a flat, got to the restaurant last and wouldn’t you know it, they where served first, but nobody went home hungry..
