February 2016 President’s Message:
Hello to All;
I trust you all survived Snowmageodon????? With it being such a mild winter to date we certainly was able to maintain our averages for snowfall, and it only lasted about a week, great, then back to mild.
One down side we had to postpone our Annual Dinner Meeting which was scheduled for January 23rd. the new date is now Saturday, February 27th. The location, menu and price will remain the same. A new flier was emailed as well as mailed to those without computers. This is our meeting for starting out the New Year, then the board will elect the officers to the various positions. We look forward to seeing you there, it’s always a good time.
There will also be no regular meeting at the Perryopolis Municipal Building on Friday February 26th. Next regular meeting at Perryopolis will be Friday March 25th, at 7:30pm.
It is also time to start to plan our activities. We need your help with these. Over the years we have toured many areas and points of interest and many of these might be repeated, so which was of interest to you, what would you recommend? Our first outing appears to be the Maple Festival, Meyersdale, April 10th more information will be coming on this.
We should also start to consider various AACA tours. This year’s Glidden Tour (prewar vehicles) is once again going to be in New Hampshire at Conway. If you recall this tour was in this area in 1998 and there were at least 11 couples from Mon Valley that went. My opinion of the Glidden I have been on this was the very best. It is September 11th thru 17th, we should seriously consider doing this tour once again as a group.
