January 2016 President’s Message
Hello to All;
Happy New Year to you all. Has this weather not been great! Here it is Christmas season as I am writing this and Jeri’s crocus, daffodils, and hyacinths are all up, and a snap dragon is still blooming. May not be good for them long range but it sure makes us feel better mentally. Just think, no matter what, winter normally doesn’t last past February, or if it does it’s only for short stretches.
Hey, for those of you who were not able to join the group on the Elkins Christmas trip, you missed a great time. We were joined by the Northern Panhandle Region of the AACA and in all there were 40 of us. Several of us were able to take our older vehicles. Accommodations, dinner and show were excellent. Something to think about doing for next December possibly? Oh, by the way we did tentatively book Nemacolin Country Club for December 4th 2016 Christmas Party.
Our Annual Dinner Meeting will be Saturday January 23rd, at the Union Grill Washington. A flier was sent out to those without email and emailed to others and a copy is also on the web site. This is our meeting for starting out the New Year and our election of the board. So start thinking who would be a good fit for the board. Then the board will elect the officers to the various positions. We look forward to seeing you there, it’s always a good time.
We are also considering for February 20th “A Day at The Museums”, that’s right a museum tour. Starting at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall, followed up with a visit to the Heinz History Center, concluding possibly with a walk down the Strip District and dinner at one of the districts restaurants. If winter does come this could be a good cabin fever break?
Also start thinking on what you would like to see us do in 2016. We need ideas, we need destinations, and we need tour directors. Our next regular meeting will be Friday February 26, 2016 at 7:30pm at the Perryopolis Municipal Building.
See you down the road!!
Regards, Wib
