It’s hard to believe but it is finally summer! Remember last February we thought when will winter ever end? Well it did and we had the spring time with all the green up and start of the flowers. It also gave us a chance to uncover those special auto’s, dust them off, check the oil and gas levels and fire them up. It also gave us an opportunity to drive and participate in a few tours and outings. There was Meyersdale Maple Festival, a joint outing with the Northern Panhandle Region, Winchester Virginia Apple Festival, and the Uniontown Summit Hill Climb. And with these we are just getting started with the season. So stay tuned for additional emails and to the web site for all the latest status of the club, articles of interest to members, and of all the up coming events.
Speaking about web sites we are all excited to be a part of the new web site program offered by the national AACA. We are up and operating and our web master is Dave “Jaguar” Tomasic. So if you have something you would like to share with others please get in touch with Dave. He is also looking for articles as well as pictures on your favorite vehicle, to be used on the web site. The Board is encouraged and hopeful that with the use of this new site we may attract new members to join and participate in the Mon Valley Region.
We will be this fall starting again to have guest speakers come to our meetings for presentations. As an example the September meeting will be Marci Lynn McGuinness who is a local author on the Uniontown area. So if you have a guest speaker you would like to consider please let us know. There is also going to be developed a verbal history of our region. Dave is currently scheduling with the charter members a date and time to interview them so we can hear of their stories and have record of them for future members.
I look forward to seeing all of you at future upcoming events. Always be safe, and remember, “This is your club and it will only be as good as you make it.” So invite a friend, share your ideas and let’s together have some fun motoring;
